Hi Ya'll (Part 2)

Here ya go! This is the second list I have compiled of things that make me appreciate (or maybe just think about) the SOUTH. It seems funny to me that it doesn't take a long time for me to think of these things!
We all love BLUE BELL ICE CREAM!!! I bet they love it in the North too, but it is found in all our grocery stores, and originated in the South.

When referring to the Piggly Wiggly super market, we simply refer to it as "The Pig".

Our grandmother's and mother's silver includes true "teaspoons". They have longer handles to reach the bottom of those tall glasses of tea.

Enough said!

We wear our Lilly from birth!

Azalea bushes line our streets and homes.

We hope the NEVER stop showing Andy Griffith reruns!

You know why Blue Bell ice cream is so good don't you? Because the cows think they are in heaven!! ;)
That used to be a BlueBell commercial with a really cute graphic.....of cows and harps! I live about an hour from Brenham, the original creamery. When my kids were younger, we did the tour several times; they would give you a free cone. Now they have an actual ice cream parlor w/ gift shop since they've gotten so popular. Ah, the good old days! and yes, BB is the best!

I am southern by marriage (but I am fron "Southern" California!) My husband is a Texan...we live now in Northern California and just discovered that our Outback steakhouse has Blue Bell ice cream!!! THAT is one of the things we miss most about Texas (and the manners, the yes ma'ams and no sirs, the monograms on smocked dresses, the sweet tea....I could go on and on...) I am happy to have found your blog! I willbe a faithful reader!

Have a wonderful week!!

Here is one to add to the list. "Canceling school before the first snowflake falls". We are out of school on Tuesday because they are "predicting" snow flurries. Got to love living in the South!

I grew up with teas spoons as well. I still know people who don't know what they are or have never seen one. I love all the farmer's market you all have down there that carry the home made jams and candies amoung all the fresh fruits and vegetables.
