A Fairy Tale Ending

The princess has spoken...

Yesterday, my daughter was talking about how her friends are starting to lose teeth. Really? Is she that old? Maybe kids are loosing them earlier these days. Anyway... she was talking about the Tooth Fairy and asked me a lot of logistical questions about how tall she was, how she got in the house, etc... Then it hit me!

I remembered the little fairy door that is upstairs in the hallway. I love these little doors, that if nothing else, cause an interesting conversation when people come over. After we went to "check it out", my daughter wanted to know if I would paint her one of her own for her room. You know, pink and green and stuff. I said SURE!

Here is the product of our labor yesterday. She is so excited about it! I am afraid she might try the whole tie a string to your tooth and a door handle trick just to lose one.

A Piece of My Mind

Trying to meditate on this verse today. Sometimes my mind can become so JUMBLED with life that I forget that the best things for me to think about are not "things".

I'm so excited...and I just can't hide it!

Let me introduce you to my extra talented friend Liz...she never ceases to amaze me!

Liz and I are neighbors, one house apart, and we like to have back yard meetings to discuss, kids, life, and our DREAMS! She shares my passion for creativity and vibrance for life. I almost had her talked into designing and sewing her own children's clothing line, but you know, who are we to tell God what it is that we need to do?

God has BIG plans for Liz. After debriefing one afternoon about our kids and their dolls...a vision came to her. I didn't have to try hard to convince her to "take a stab at" this project, the excitement was in her voice, and I knew it would not be long before I would see a sampling of "the project".

"Dilly Dolly"

Everyone together now... "awww, that is so cute"

Here is a little bit o' info about these precious dolls... Liz puts a lot of her time and love into each on of these dolls. Each is very unique and with her attention to detail, she ensures that no two are exactly alike. She has payed attention to safety issues while sewing these dolls because she knows that the dolls will be loved on and played with for many years. All the eyes are safe and loose items are hand stiched to make sure that they are secure. She does warn that parents might want to use caution if giving one of these to a child under the age of three. Liz uses bright colored, recycled fabrics, and says that is what makes these dolls unique...however, that is why customization on the doll is very limited. She does let the customer choose the hair color and any personalization/bible verse that you would want included on the doll. Each is made with polyfill and encourages you to spot clean the doll instead of throwing it in the washing machine. *All dolls come with body, boots, and skirt but you can get "add-ons" for a little extra.

Together Again

As some of you know, I lost my precious Grandmother last week. I am planning a post about how beautiful her service was, but I am still trying to get back into my "normal" routine...whatever that is!

So, for now, one of the happiest things about last week was getting together with all my cousins. Boy can we have a good time! Below is a picture of all of the cousins on my mom's side of the family. I miss you all and I love you!!!!

Sweet Victory!

Yes, I am from Kentucky... that doesn't mean I always cheer for the Wildcats. One of those times will be when we play the South Carolina Gamecocks. Our dear, precious friends the Horns were in Lexington this weekend for a little SEC action. As I have mentioned before, Darrin left Western Kentucky University last year to become the head coach of the Gamecocks, and since then, we wear a lot of garnet and watch a lot of SC basketball at our house. They have blessed us beyond measure with their friendship and we were so excited to share in their awesome victory yesterday.
To God be the glory for all he is doing in their lives. I have never met a family who has so diligently followed Christ where he leads, and with no hesitation I might add. Here are a few pictures to document the day. WOW...what a win!
